Slope Stability

Slope instability of natural and man-made slopes is caused by the movement of soils and rocks under the influence of gravity.  Movement can occur as slides, flows or falls depending on the  geotechnical characteristics of the ground and other influences (steepness of the slope, groundwater, surcharge loadings etc).

The desk study and walk-over inspection can provide a great deal of valuable information about unstable slopes and is an essential part of the assessment.  It will also help to focus any subsequent insitu investigations, from which appopriate remedial works can be designed and implemented.

Our trained geologists are on hand to help you with slope slability problems from :-

  • the initial assessment
  • insitu investigation requirements and implementation
  • geotechnical design
  • advice on slope design to on-site monitoring during construction.
